Go for vacation, go for travel. This time I chose the city of Hamburg as a destination to visit. After Berlin, Hamburg is the second-largest city in Germany and is also the largest port city in Germany.

Hamburg, a city with maritime air, crossed by numerous rivers, lakes, and canals on which more than 2,500 bridges are built, surpasses even Venice in the number of boats that dock here.

So, if you want a City break and you have not yet chosen your destination, then Hamburg can definitely be one of the places to go.

What to visit in Hamburg?

As you have already noticed, one of the main tourist attractions in Hamburg is the port area, because a visit to Hamburg cannot be complete without a tour of the port. In addition to being the second largest in Europe, you can also embark on a romantic boat ride from here. We recommend that you take this walk, especially in the evening, when the port becomes an enchanting place, with millions of colorful lights from the boats and houses in the area.

Lake Alster

It is another objective that must be checked because it passes through the center of Hamburg, and on both sides, you can see the imposing buildings with copper roofs, restaurants, and cafes, where you can stop for a coffee break or a romantic dinner.

 Deichstrasse Area

You should also not miss the oldest part of the city, namely the Deichstrasse, which is right in the center of the city. The buildings here date back to the 14th century, and even though they were destroyed in the great fire of 1842, they were later rebuilt by the authorities.

Kunsthalle Galleries

Kunsthalle is the most important art gallery in Germany and is located in three interconnected buildings. Here you can see works of 14th-century artists, Dutch paintings, but also more recent works of art from the 19th century.

Beatles Platz

Don’t miss a walk in Beatles Square in the St. Paul neighborhood. It is paved with black cubic stone to look like vinyl, and you can see here the statues of all the Beatles members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, but also the bassist Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best.

Miniatur Wunderland

Here you will discover 13 kilometers of the miniature railway, on which 900 digitally controlled trains run. Officially it is the largest railway of its kind, and the location contains miniature exhibitions of interest not only for children but also for adults.

Panoptikum Museum

It is not as famous as the Madame Tussauds in London, but the Panoptikum in Hamburg is also a must-see attraction. Here you will be able to see exposed wax figures of contemporary historical personalities.

Maritim Museum

It is an architectural jewel of red brick, inside which you can discover 3,000 years of maritime history, and face a visit among the secrets of navigation and other fascinating exhibits in the museum.
