If you like to travel and love adventure, then you must choose a visit to Berlin as your destination. Being a dynamic, bohemian, and affordable multicultural city, Berlin has become a favorite destination for young people everywhere.

And even though Berlin has one of the strongest European economies, a city break here at any time of the year won’t cost you much.

What to visit?

1. The Berlin Wall and Street Art

The Berlin Wall is one of the symbols of the city, and the eastern side remains one of the most sought-after tourist attractions.

Here you will see the (perfectly legal) works of graffiti and mural art, made by artists from all over the world.

2. Checkpoint Charlie

Linked to Checkpoint Charlie is an event that is said to have turned the Cold War into World War III. This is where the famous tank showdown took place when the American and Soviet armies came close to using the weapons. Fortunately, however, the conflict died down after President John. F. Kennedy contacted the Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev and convinced him to withdraw the tanks.

3. Brandenburg Gate and Holocaust Memorial

The Brandenburg Gate is today the symbol of unification and peace. It is the place where thousands of people celebrated November 1989 the fall of the wall and the reunification of Berlin. The Brandenburg Gate is among the favorite places of tourists and locals, who come here to relax, watch the sunset, or participate in various artistic events.

Very close to the Brandenburg Gate is the Holocaust Memorial, which specially commemorates the death of Jews during the Nazi regime.

4. Flea markets

Whenever you arrive in Berlin during the year, reserve your Saturday morning for a visit to the flea markets with the locals, where you will live an immersive experience, especially if you are fond of souvenirs, clothes, decorative objects, vinyl, rare books, or unique items.

5. Museum Island

A truly historical and cultural place, Museum Island is the perfect destination for any tourist arriving on a city break in Berlin at any time of the year. The most special attractions are the Bode Museum and the Pergamon Museum, full of charm and controversy.

6. Potsdamer Platz

It is a market famous for its futuristic architecture and the Sony center. It is the place where you can go to the movies, have a coffee or visit the Film Museum. The International Film Festival takes place here annually, on which occasion the “Golden Bear” is awarded.

7. Nightlife

Berlin offers many things to see and do for all kinds of tourists. Chic and quiet restaurants, large-scale concerts, small shows from the underground scene, theater and film, all this can be tasted in Berlin without much hassle.

I hope I made you miss traveling and Berlin can be a perfect idea for a city break this year for you.
