When you want to achieve something, change something, or have something, you know what you need. You need work, time, effort, and above all, you need the motivation to continue.

No matter how passionate you are about your goals, there always comes a time when you just want to give up everything. It is inevitable, but paradoxically, it is exactly the moment when you have to gather your motivation and continue.

No matter how talented you are, where there is no will, there is no success. If you want to change something in your life, you have to be consistent and you have to find a way to control your motivation so that you can move on.

Motivation comes when you start doing something about it. And for that, you need motivational activities that will give you instant satisfaction and inspire you to move on.

1. Temporary change of location

In difficult times, it is best to take a break before making any important decisions and do something that can allow you to relax and keep your mind away from daily activities for a few days or at least hours. Taking a break will help you see that things can change and sometimes you just need to rest and gather strength for it.

Sometimes this is exactly what we need to see things differently. We all have habits associated with where we are, but if you go elsewhere, if you change your place, you will feel that you have pressed the restart button, and your energy level will be completely different.

And you don’t even have to travel far – you can go to the nearest cafe, a park or visit a friend. Just change the location for a while.

2. Watch motivational videos

One of the easiest motivational activities you can do is watch a video that keeps you inspired and motivated. There are a lot of motivational videos available on the internet that will get you on the right track.

We are so preoccupied with achieving the goals that when we run into an obstacle, we often give up on our plan and lose our motivation to continue. A motivational video can re-motivate you whenever needed.

For example, watching a video on TED Talks may inspire you, but it’s not the same as action. And action is exactly what we need. It may be difficult at first, but you already know that small and frequent efforts are what create that momentum that we need to continue and not give up.

3. Find a mentor

It’s great to want to make your own way. But successful and motivated people know that everyone needs a mentor to guide them through success. So find one or more mentors and give them regular time to discuss your goals with them, and to receive encouragement from someone who knows how to guide you and especially to encourage you.

Mentors do not have to be experts to give you support, but they can even be among your colleagues, your friends, or even your boss.

4. Meditate

Meditation is the best practice you can use when you feel demotivated. Often, we are so stressed by our busy lives that we do not give ourselves the time we deserve. Meditation helps you to take a break, to give up all the negative words inside your mind and self-doubt, but especially to give yourself a new perspective.

5. Stop comparing yourself to other people

If you do not believe in your potential, then no one else will believe, no matter how good you are. Get inspired by those around you, but don’t be sad if you’re not on the same level in certain areas.

Often, we see only the happy moments of those around us – exclusive holidays, the dream job, the perfect relationship, etc. But what you see in the online environment is only half of the story. Everyone faces their own problems and everyone has better or worse days. Remember, no one’s life is perfect.

So you don’t have to wait for motivation to come naturally. But you have to work to stay on track, take action, set your goals well, and be confident in your own strength to the end. Always think about “why” and what you have learned over time from previous experiences. And when something goes wrong, feel free to change direction.
