If you haven’t already bought a flight ticket to Prague, then maybe this is the right time to look for accommodation and plane tickets, and make a reservation on the agenda for a short trip to Prague.
The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, or as it is also called “the city of the 100 bell towers” is perhaps one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Europe, with a historic center that has been part of UNESCO heritage since 1992.
If you love art and architectural masterpieces in Gothic and Renaissance style, you will surely fall in love with this city, because Prague is like an open-air museum of architecture. And even though during the Second World War, the city of Prague suffered great damage, the historic center of the city still has buildings in their original form.
And if you want to enjoy art even more, but you have a small budget, then you have an extra reason to come to Prague, because the city offers many tourist attractions with free tickets, such as the National Gallery, the Czech Center Gallery, the Prague Gallery of the Czech Glass or the Czech Museum of Music.
And if you are a big fan of outdoor concerts, then you should not miss the United Islands of Prague festival, where artists from all over the world come, with different musical styles. It is kind of Untold in Romania, only that it is free, and the location where this event takes place is a wonderful one, being right on the Vltava islands.
Prague is also famous for the beautiful sculptures from the city center. Two of these sculptures are dedicated to Franz Kafka, one of the city’s most famous former citizens.
Among the unique architectural sights, Prague is also the only place in the world where you can see a cubist-style lantern.
And because the inhabitants of this city are great lovers of art, you will find works of art by Czech artists of the 20th century, even inside the Prague metro stations.
But you should not miss the gastronomic part of Prague or the spontaneous parties in Náplavka.
Especially during the week, on the banks of the Vltava River from Náplavka, the area is filled with locals who come here to stock up on fresh products from one of the most popular markets in the city. This place is full of life, people come for a walk, listen to music, or watch the spectacular panorama of the city.
For the most romantic of you, however, we recommend that you do not miss a visit to these objectives:
Carol Bridge is the most representative monument in the city of Prague. On its edge, there are a series of replicas of some beautiful statues from the 15th century. XVIII. However, you can also see the original version of these statues if you visit the National Gallery from Prague.
St. George’s Basilica, which even if it has been destroyed partially in a fire in 1142, today you can still see inside a series of Romanesque elements.
St. Martin’s Round Church is the oldest in Prague. It is also the only building from the time of the Bohemian Duke Bretislav I that is still intact.
The Cathedral of St. Vitus has been built by the order of Emperor Carol the IV. He wanted it to be something new, something that no longer exists at that time.
The old City Hall, built-in 1338 in the form of a tower, was made in Gothic style.
The Astronomical Clock Tower, inside the Old City Hall, is considered the oldest astronomical clock in the world that still works.
The Royal Summer Palace, located in the Royal Garden, is also called the Palace of Queen Anne, and its construction was ordered by Ferdinand I in 1538, for his wife Queen Anne, who, however, did not get to see it, because died before the construction to be completed.
And although Prague has many beautiful places to visit, last but not least you should reach Containall Stalin, a cultural center located in Letná Park, where evenings with film screenings, live music, and other cultural events take place.
